At the 2014 International CES, Flir Systems unveiled the FLIR ONE personal thermal imaging device, targeted to consumers.
The $350 iPhone accessory is camera built into an iPhone case that displays a live thermal image of whatever it’s pointed at. In addition to detecting intruders and animals in total darkness, it can also detect air and moister leaks.
According to the company, it can also be used to detect birds and other animals in the dark and help users in emergency situations, giving them a clear image even in darkness and smokey environments.
