A couple of CNET articles shed light on the emerging 5G mobile networks. One of the articles, 5G in 2019 underwhelmed. Here’s how 2020 should be different points out that today’s networks are not as fast as promised and lack the range needed for effective mobile usage. As its title implies, things could get better by the end of the year.
Another posted lacked week declares “T-Mobile’s 5G network is here, but it’s not worth the upgrade yet.” A reporter tested the new T-Mobile network in Manhattan and declared “If you’re looking for this new low-band 5G network to completely change how you use your phone, you’re going to be disappointed. In using the OnePlus device the past few days in New York, the experience was for the most part identical with T-Mobile’s current 4G LTE nationwide network.”
