My sense of the Galaxy Note 10+ is that it’s big (6.8-inch screen), fast and has a beautiful high resolution screen that’s second to none. I also like the camera, though its portrait mode isn’t as good as what you’ll find on the iPhone 10s. Samsung has gotten away from most of the “bloatware” that burdened previous phones but it still offers Bixby, it’s alternative to Apple’s Siri and Google Assistant. Fortunately, because it’s an Android phone, Google Assistant is still available though you have to activate it by voice or by touching the screen. Bixby has a dedicated side button. The other good news is that side button can be reprogrammed to do other things like launch the camera or other app or shut down the phone.
I’m transitioning from a pure-Android Pixel 3, so there are some things I’m having to get used to. For example, swiping up from the bottom of the screen brings up Bixby rather than an alphabetical list of all your apps but that list is still available if you swipe up from anywhere else on the screen.
Yes, there is no headphone jack. Samsung was one of the last hold-outs by they followed Apple and others by insisting you use USB C earbuds (included) or a wireless bluetooth headset.
Also, like the iPhone Xs, it’s expensive at a suggested price of $1,100, though you can probably find it for less, especially if you wait a couple of weeks.
Also, we’re going to see new phones from Apple and Google this fall so, if you want to pick from more options, it might pay to wait for those announcements.
